The Starweather HOA will keep this list of projects up to date so the community is informed on the current status of each project. If you have a question related to a project please use the contact form at the bottom of the website and we'll send a reply within a few days.
Project | Status | Due Date | Description & Updates |
|---|---|---|---|
Backup Generator | In-Process | New Date: Spring '26 | Robert's Electric and Idaho Power determined the connection will take 16+ hours. During this time the well will need to be powered down cutting water to the community. This means the power would have to be kept off all night into the next day. Due to the risk of freezing water lines the HOA Board has pushed the connection to the Spring once we are clear of freeze issues. Once the connection is scheduled we will inform the community so they have time to prepare for a day/night/morning water outage. |
No Trespass No Hunting Signage | In-Process | 01/30/26 | Over the last couple of season's we have had issues with potential hunting/use of Starweather's Common Area Land. Serena is working to verify the law and ensure we have appropriate signs in the neighborhood to prevent Trespassing and Hunting. |
Document street-side water shut-off valves | Closed | Over the last few years there have been several cases where Homeowners have needed to access their "street-side" water shut off valve which can be difficult to find. This valve is NOT the irrigation/sprinkler system valve & it is not the water main inside the home) it is a connection point from the home to our neighborhood water main. The property management company has an original map showing where these are located. We will link them to this site so in the future homeowners can find the location of their valve without issue. | |
Road Chip & Seal | Re-opened | Spring '26 | This winter in many areas the chip & seal has completely disinegrated and we are down the original road surface pre-chip/seal along with a lot of loose gravel. Serena met with Robin Hill the construction company representative to show her our concerns. In the spring the company will come back and do a deep sweep to remove ALL loose gravel the Board will then meet with Robin together to evaluate the road condition and discuss next steps. |
Highway Lot Fencing | Not Started | TBD | Fencing along the two highway lots is in disrepair. We need to evaluate what to do with them. We have an incoming bid on repairing the fence and will get another one to fully replace. We share the costs with the community and gather input on next steps. |
Common Area Trails Fencing | Not Started | TBD | The Fencing along the common area trails in a lot of places is in disrepair. We need to get estimates for repair in all these locations. |
Highway Lot Fire Risk | Not Started | TBD | The two common area lots along the highway are not managed and get very dry around August. We need to evaluate their fire risk and determine what we can do to mitigate the risk. |
Capital Reserve Review | Not Started | Feb. '26 | Once the generator is fully paid we will evaluate what is in the capital reserves and communicate to the community the amount. We need to determine if we feel the reserve is adequate or whether we should increase the amount. |
Community Street Signs | Not Started | TBD | Community Street signs are old and need of repair. There was a previous project approved to replace the signs which never came to fruition. We will reopen this project for community review & discussion. |
Common Area Trails | Not Started | TBD | Several common area trails have overgrown to the point they are no longer visible we need to re-establish these trails. *This project will be overseen by the Starweather Firewise Committee and used as a part of our work toward a community Firewise designation. |
Additional Water Line Excavations | Not Started | TBD | There are a few other homes that run water all winter as they have experienced freezing lines in the past. The cost to the Ott's home on Mallard was around $7,000. We will need to reach out to the other properties on Starweather to determine who runs water during the winter months to evaluate if other homes need water line insulation. |
Updated Flood Map | In-Process | N/A | The county is updating the Big Wood Flood zone map. This will give us a better indication of the "Actual" Riparian Zone in our neighborhood. Once this information is available we will share it with the community. |
Hiawatha Canal Flood Prevention | Closed | N/A | The Hiawatha canal manager (Jim Kuhn) & engineers got back with our property manager and advised they are not executing any plans at this time. They simply needed to clear the small canal that runs next to the Porino's land so if there was a flood/emergency they had ready access to the canal incase the water was not diverting to the flood plain as plan. The canal was cleared late summer this item at this point is closed. |
Establish an annual Block Party | N/A | TBD | The HOA Board was trying to establish a block party this last Fall but the plans fell through. We want to revisit creating an annual neighborhood party mixer and will set a date in 2026. |
